What happened in 2009?

Well, I guess I'll just keep this blog as my annual update, since I can't seem to be able to keep it up more often than that.

This year just a few things happened:

My little baby, Bryttnii turned 17 yesterday Dec. 21st. (I can't believe it!) and today is Roger's Birthday, and of course he's at work.
I really don't like their birthdays being around Christmas time, and I'm sure they like it even less.... It has always been hard to get friends together for Bryttnii's birthday when they are all out of town for Christmas vacation, but she was able to gather up a couple of them, and along with her brother Tyson, they went to the movies.

Bryttnii is finishing her Senior year, and is trying to figure out what she wants to do after that. She would love to go to BYU, but not sure what she wants to major on.

Checks Unlimited closed its manufacturing department here in Colorado Springs at the beginning of October, and moved it to Kansas; so I lost my job, and am now in the process of sending resumes out to a bunch of companies, with no results, which is pretty much exactly what I was expecting in this economy.
I took a few free classes at the Workforce Center here in town, and I'm toying with the idea of going back to school. Not exactly my cup of tea at this point in my life, but it's an option, as long as I can figure out how to pay for it, without a job! ;p
In the meantime I'm trying to tackle a couple of things at home, like de-cluttering closets, and painting. The living room and kitchen finally look decent with a coat of fresh paint on, but I'm not too motivated on my own, so the "to do list" is proceeding very slooowwwly.

The really exciting thing right now is that Roger is again active in church, and Tyson is getting ready for his mission. He got his wisdom teeth pulled, and all the medical exams are in order, except for one paper we are waiting on, then it's all ready to turn in. Tyson will be turning 19 at the end of February, and he would love to be sent... anywhere in the US.
I'm not even kidding!

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, and the hope that 2010 will bring us all whatever is needed in our lives, along with the strength to overcome the unexpected.
